About Us

Hansby & Co is an independent main contractor, servicing clients across the UK for all their building requirements. We deliver all our projects to a high standard of quality and maintain a superior level of professionalism and reliability throughout. Defined as the construction and development arm of the Hansby brand, Hansby & Co was formed during the COVID-19 pandemic when founding parties had time to reflect. It was decided that there was an opportunity to bring together a skilled senior team that were both qualified and also possessed experience in large scale construction across many
sectors.

With some of the team wanting to retire in 10 years, and others in 20, Hansby & Co has been carefully constructed to allow the individual objectives of the team to be met as well as succession planning for the future. It was considered an important part of the company to bring together a mix of both Tier 1 commercial and construction experience as well as marrying that with Company Main Board and Finance experience.

The senior team has had lead involvement in both residential and commercial projects, including large house building, with individual values in excess of £30,000,000. Our clients know their plans are in capable hands. We have developed and perfected our processes and invested heavily in technology to pull previously struggling projects into the modern world of
Project Management. From a single storey rear extension to the complete build of a medium-scale development, Hansby & Co are committed to delivering excellence and value to our clients.

Chris Chambers

A very experienced main board Director, possessing expansive construction knowledge, Chris’ experience, natural leadership skills and operational knowledge and structure brings great depth to Hansby & Co. The operational relationship between Chris and the senior team also provides great depth for everyone to draw on and learn from moving forward.

As we work quickly to build our credentials for the future, his experience with procedures, policies and accreditations like ISO 9001 as well as establishing KPI’s on each area of the business will help us to create a learning organisation that allows the next generation of the company to gain not just the technical skills for the future, but also the softer skills often required for business.

James Hughes MRICS

James has over 20 years experience as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and recently left Wates Construction having been Commercial Manager with responsibility for projects in excess of £100,000,000 as well as mentoring multiple quantity surveyors of all levels.

James is focussed on the devil of the detail in the procurement and contractual elements of the projects. Being a part of Tier 1 companies, in addition to the formal qualifications he holds, brings an extremely professional side to the commercial operations as well as being used to involvement in teamwork and collaboration.

Rebekah Hilton

Rebekah’s background in accounts as well as property brings a very keen understanding and control over the day to day financial running of the business.

Whilst not originally from a developer or construction background, she has made impressive achievements in property overall and is simultaneously working towards her Chartered Accountant qualifications and CIMA accreditation.

Her continuous quest to make sure reporting, budgets and financial planning are at the heart of the operation, is a strategy not to be understated. Both her early success investing in property and the Hansby brand shows what a true forward planner she is.

Julian Donnelly

A highly accomplished senior project manager with excess of 30 years of experience in project management and construction operations across public and private sectors. Julian’s background at senior level as well as operational roles, brings a very progressive yet measured approach to the operational side of the business.

Having worked at companies like Carillion, Wates, and most recently, Galliford Try, his construction pedigree speaks for itself. Julian brings solid commercial acumen and a keen eye for the processes as well as Health & Safety.

Oliver Connolly

Much of Oliver’s career has been spent designing and developing enterprise software systems across both private and public sectors, having worked across multiple industries and across the world. From low level technical development to high level systems architecture Oliver has considerable track record whether working as a corporate member, freelance consultant or founding and directing a successful consultancy business employing 25 lead experts.

Alongside his career, Oliver has gained extensive experience in the residential property market and for the last 10 years built up his own property portfolio consisting of buy-to-lets, commercial, HMOs and short term serviced accommodation as well as investing in new build residential development. Oliver brings a wealth of experience with keen analytical, creative and commercial skills and is a key member of the Hansby team.
